The Founder’s Series Spey Rod is built for the rivers we fish and the fish that live in them.
Designed and tested in the Pacific Northwest on some of the largest steelhead in North America, these rods are built on premium CTS Spey blanks from New Zealand and tuned for anglers who value line control, feel, and power where it counts.
At 13 feet, 8 weight, the blank features a responsive, tip-sensitive upper section paired with a powerful butt for confident casting and fish-fighting authority. The load profile sits close to full flex, allowing the rod to stay connected throughout the cast while maintaining excellent loop stability and control.
Unlike traditional deep-loading Spey designs, this taper favors a firmer butt with a quicker, more responsive tip, making it exceptionally versatile across a wide range of casting distances. It excels at high-speed line control, efficient loop formation, and clean presentations—whether working tight quarters or stretching the cast across broad runs.
Each rod is hand-built in our shop with premium components, a clean, understated finish, and a focus on balance and durability. Produced in limited quantities, every Founder’s Series Spey Rod is serialized and backed by our lifetime warranty.
